Challenge

Modifying existing overload weigh systems was required to align them to Hyster-Yale’s latest developments.

Solution

Abbey’s technical and engineering teams designed and manufactured modified looms and indicator mounts, and configured systems and manuals to facilitate improved production efficiencies. Collaborations involved system manufacturers in mainland Europe, UK-based loom suppliers, and OEM special engineering departments in Northern Ireland.

Result

Hyster-Yale’s customer, Briggs Equipment can now supply trucks incorporating overload weigh systems directly from the factory to end-user customers without the need to retrofit these systems at a UK-based prep centre. Benefits include reduced carbon footprint, reduced local engineering time, and faster delivery to Briggs’s end-user customers.
